Log Rolling In Our Time, Plus One or Two Plugs
Because he’s such a great guy, my friend and Onion compatriot, Brendan Emmett Quigley, was kind enough to say some really nice things about my book in his totally awesome blog, “Can I Have A Word With You?”
And it was amazingly simple to get him to do it. All I had to do was send him a copy of my book, slip in a polite request and some cash, plug the hell out of his blog in return* and, without a single thought for his needs or his personal safety, he made with the positive reviewing.
Because that’s the kind of guy Brendan is.
So I hereby nominate BEQ as one of the Crossword Jesuses and if you disagree, please feel free to complain openly and bitterly here. His puzzles are innovative and filled with fun, unique entries that challenge even the best solvers. And his books rule. You should buy them. Then buy something from his store. Oh, and don’t forget to tip him after you’ve done his puzzles. You are getting sleeeeeppyyy…
In all seriousness, Brendan and his wife Liz are two of the nicest, smartest people I know, and they are welcome in my abode anytime. Plus, he makes a lentil dal that’s to die for and they’re both nice to my kids. How could you not like people like that?
* Just kidding. He didn’t ask for any plugs. He was mainly interested in the cash.**
** Still kidding.
Love your humor and your blog…who knows, this may be the beginning of a LTR ((^_~)).
Blessings!
That is a great group of words, set in a flattering order. Congrats!
